A logographic writing system is one where each symbol or logogram represents an entire word or significant concept.
In this workshop, I worked under the mentorship of the great minds of Jorge León and Mikel Romero to develop a logogram systemn inspired by the culture Apache from America.
In this workshop, I worked under the mentorship of the great minds of Jorge León and Mikel Romero to develop a logogram systemn inspired by the culture Apache from America.
I aimed to create a system that is deeply connected to human experiences, based on a variety of concepts.
To achieve this, I drew inspiration from the cultural, visual, and historical references of the Apache Chiricahua Trube as a foundation for my project.

Fist Step: Investigation and Analysis of the Apache Chiricahua
︎ I delved deeply into the culture of the Apache Chiricahua and uncovered many fascinating aspects. The one that impressed me the most was the magic behind their Fire Dance. This celebration involves intricate rituals where participants wear distinctive attire divided into three parts: the head, body, and bottoms. This three-part structure symbolizes the unity of mind, body, and spirit.
Second Step: Conceptualization
︎ Inspired by this, I decided to incorporate traditional Apache symbols, combining them with elements that represent the weapons they crafted and the spirituality that permeates their culture. I unified these elements under a cohesive three-piece structure. I assigned each symbol a specific meaning and created new symbols out of the structure.
